Branson inspires 5.4 to make a difference

FivePointFour was inspired by Richard Branson to make a difference and feed thousands of children each week.

Recently FivePointFour’s Director Tamara Trentain spent time with Richard Branson on Necker Island and was inspired to ‘think big’.

Branson’s passion is to inspire entrepreneurs to follow in his footsteps. “They must become a force for good, they must use their entrepreneurial skills to make a real difference in the world, and they must use their financial resources to make a real difference inthe world.” Branson says.

The directors of 5.4 were identified as business owners who are passionate about apply their professional abilities to assist others. Spending a week with Branson was a great way to explore ways to make a global difference.

This led 5.4 to declare an ongoing commitment to The World Hunger Project.

5.4 have boldly declared that for every person who eats 5.4 for a day, they will also feed a child in need.

“Not only do we want to provide healthy and nutritious meals to Australians, but also to thousands of children,” Ben says.

“The Hunger project’s School Meals Program provides nutritious food for children around the world so they are able to learn and grow up healthy.”

A new generation of consumers, influencers, and entrepreneurs has come of age-and its outlook on doing business is revolutionary. Generation Y business owners such as Ben and Tamara of 5.4 fundamentally believes that there is a better, more ethical way to do business-and their everyday behaviors reflect this mindset.

“Our goal is to make a difference and a profit. We strive to bring value for money, aim to be the best in the market, continually support our members, and do this in an ethical manner.”

“When people eat 5.4 meals, they are part of a group of like-minded people –healthy, fitness conscious individuals that are lifestyle-driven. So knowing they are feeding a child in need each day aligns well with the ethics of our customers,” Ben explains.

The foundations for 5.4 to building a socially responsibility business is on track and already making a difference to world hunger. Their goal is to be feeding 5,000 children each by the end of the year and providing a half a million meals within 3 years.
