We’re all guilty of making pretty extreme resolutions that we know we’ll never stick to beyond mid-January. It’s good to be optimistic, right? But wouldn’t it be awesome if you actually did achieve that goal you’ve been thinking about forever?
It is definitely possible and you CAN do it, so here are some tips to keep you on track:
If your ultimate goal is to be your healthiest possible self at the end of the year, start with small goals. If you want to be able to run a half marathon, start with short 3-5km tracks and build your way up from there. If you went from never running since high school to trying to combat 40 km straight away, you’re not going to make it and you’re probably going to be pretty disheartened which could lead you to give up then and there. Small goals = small wins. By starting with small, more realistic targets you are more likely to hit them and stay focused on the overall goal because you have been gradually progressing and succeeding as you go.
We’ve all heard about 4 or 8-week challenges, but there is a reason why they are so prevalent in the health industry and that is simply because they WORK. Similar to the above, if you tell your friends that you are doing a challenge you are going to be more accountable for your goals. They will help to keep you on track by reminding you of your goals, which can be a great way to stay motivated. Even better though, they might hear you’re doing a challenge and want to join it with you. If you’re going through it together, you won’t want to let the other done, which is a fantastic way to stay focused. Plus, you can have more fun with it when you’re experiencing it with a mate.
You already know it’s going to be challenging achieving your goal, but that’s what makes it so much more rewarding when you do. And although it’s going to be hard no matter what, you can make it easier for yourself to stay on track by ordering our ready-made meals.
